A week is an important division of time in our lives. We do several things according to the day of the week. A month is also an important time period which we will talk about in the next lesson.
A week has 7 days. Many people think that Monday is the first day of the week. This is not true. Monday is the first day of the working week. The first day of the week is Sunday. This is the day dedicated to God and prayer. After offering the first day of the week to God, people start their working week on Monday.
Most of us look forward to the weekend. The weekend usually means the end of the working week. This normally consists of Saturday and Sunday.
These are the days of the week:
1. Sunday
2. Monday
3. Tuesday
4. Wednesday
5. Thursday
6. Friday
7. Saturday

The names of the days of the week always start with a capital letter because these are proper nouns or 'names'.
